FOT - Forced Oscillation Technique
The Forced Oscillation Technique (FOT) is a non-invasive test used to measure how easily air moves through a person’s lungs — in other words, it evaluates the mechanical properties of the respiratory system such as airway resistance and lung reactance.
It is especially useful for detecting airway obstruction (like in asthma, COPD, or sleep apnea) and for assessing lung function in children or adults who find it difficult to perform standard spirometry.
